What is Kanak Dhara Puja?

The Goddess of wealth is worshipped and pleased by every family, for the removal of financial instabilities and continuous money flow in the family. Kanak Dhara is another name of Goddess Lakshmi and as per the word spell, Kanak refers to “wealth” and Dhara refers to “flow of holy water” thus kanakdhara means the continuous flow of wealth and good luck. This puja is mainly performed to protect the natives from the evil effects of the malefic planet Venus. It resolves all the financial debts and leads to the attainment of sound health and wealth, simultaneously.

Significance of the puja:

As the plight of the Brahmin lady was resolved by the 21 shlokas of Sri Sankaracharya by which Lakshmi Ji was pleased and showered the lady with wealth and prosperity, in spite of her evil deeds in the previous birth. Sankaracharya sang the “Kanakadhara stotra” for removing the negative effects of past deeds and poverty. Thus this puja is an ultimate solution for banishing the poverty and debt stricken life and inviting the shower of wealth, fame and social pleasures in the society; and also to overcome the malefic effects of planet Venus.

• The puja is carried out according to the prescribed rituals by performing yagyas to please Goddess Lakshmi. Kanakdhara yantra is used while worshipping and kept in the temples for further positive results. Kanakdhara stotram is chanted which consists of 21 hymns of 4 lines each. Yagya is performed while chanting the mantra:
